Stepping Away And Retirements (Early)

Replying To CiarraiMick:  "I think people are reading too much into the retirements tbh.All 6 Mayo players were great servant to Mayo and gave us all great pleasure watching them but age has caught up with them. The chances were only Clarke and barratt had any chance of starting places in 21.Last year Higgins Vaughan Seamie O shea did nt feature and Parsons was only a bit player so truth being told this years Mayo team wont be that much different to the team that got to last years final. Also same with Dublins retirements.MDMA or Andrews did nt feature last year anyway."
The way Clarke and Barrett played last year they will be a difficult enough duo to replace... ??

Can only think of 7 current players outside of Dublin left with A.I. medals....

McBrearty + Murphy - Donegal
Geaney, Murphy, O Brien, Moran + Crowley - Kerry...

Is that all that's left ?

Croke Park bosses are see no evil hear no evil and speak no evil, do they even care about the game any more? Sure they seem to be making more money outside of the sports what with pumping 70 million into the corporate side of things.

It looks really bad and it looks like who ever is in charge is asleep at the wheel.

I didn't realise there were only 7 football players left with allireland medals outside of dublin, that's nuts but we'll be told there is nothing to see here, everything is brilliant.

Is it a consolation for all the Wexford players who have retired without one.Considering it's been 25 years I'd say they'd be a lot of peoples pet interest in hurling."
What country are you from?

Replying To Fionn:  "And do you not realise that kerry folk think exactly this, and think that they could most likely be the only realistic threat to Dublin for the next couple of years...??

Their disingenuous posts about saving GAA by splitting Dublin, share out the Dublin sponsorship funding, stop GAA funding, keep them out of Croke Park etc etc - there is a method to their madness.... it is because they believe they will benefit most out of it... it is all self serving....!
They, the posters, ex players and pundits are being far from altruistic - believe me....!
It is the No.1 agenda of many of their posters on here - stir it up, and hope for a snowball effect....
Try for the sympathy vote and help save the poor kingdom... ;o)

Take Dublin out, and who will win 90% of the following All Ireland's...??? It certainly wont be Limerick or Meath....!
You don't need to be a rocket scientist.... And that guy you used to work with, will be back in the money... ;o)"
But even if your are right, won't they be winning it away from home in all semi finals and finals? And travelling alot. And less funding? No?

I don't think sherwood was on the kerry panel in 2014 I could be wrong but I think he was dropped after the 2013 semifinal against dublin.

JOD is as good as gone, can't see him getting any game time in 2021 unless we get a load of injuries to our forwards and he some how manages to stay fit.

I don't know Galway. There s talk of quarter finals this year which could make it harder for Dublin. For example Dublin might have to play a Donegal or Tyrone in a quarter final if they came through qualifiers. Dublin to win Leinster easy but after that who knows!

And where would dublins quarter final against Tyrone or Donegal be played Mick?

Kerry in Killarney/Thurles or Donegal in Ballybofey/Clones is the only way Dublin will be bet this year.
Don't think Tyrone or Galway are good enough.

There will only ever be change when supporters come together and take action by hitting the gaa in the pocket. People will have to stop going to matches and that might bring them to the table.

Well both Galway and Tyrone will be stronger this year. Galway will have a few important players back from injury. Tyrone also have McShane back and a few others that took time out back so it will be interesting.

But will they be as strong as dublin in Croke Park mick? Remember they will have to play the dublin behemoth in dublins home ground and neither Galway or Tyrone have senior allireland winners on their teams.

Remember Galway Tyrone Mayo Donegal Monaghan and kerry will all have to play away games and will probably suffer injuries and possible suspensions.
