Kiltale 4-14 Na Fianna 0-9
Kiltale produced a stunning second half performance to comfortable beat Na Fianna in round 3 of the Meath SHC at Lomans Park Trim.
Playing with the breeze Na Fianna led at the break 0-6 to 0-5. Stephen Shiel's charges controlled the opening twenty minutes and were 0-6 to 0-2 in front with fine scores from Barry Slevin, Will Flynn and Luke Boggan. Kiltale finished the half the stronger and points from Jack Regan, Philly Garvey and Stephen Donoghue left the minimum in it at the break.
That control continued in the second half and by the 5th minute Kiltale had victory secured. Jack Regan found the net with the first play of the half and the Christy Ring Cup joint captain had the ball in the Na Fianna net again from the penalty spot a minute late. Veteran Garvey added a quick 1-1 and Kiltale were 3-7 to 0-6 in front.
Peter Durnin, Regan (3) and Garvey added points before the winners 4th goal arrived courtesy of Chris Reilly. Regan added another brace before the full time whistle to secure win number two for John Donoghue’s men.
Next up for Kiltale are Killyon while Na Fianna, still looking for their first win, entertain Ratoath.
