Kerry legend Tomás Ó Sé is expected to be confirmed as the county’s next U20 football manager.

Several reports yesterday indicated that the five-time All-Ireland winner’s appointment could be made official as early as this coming Tuesday night, with a rescheduled county committee meeting for September having been brought forward.

It would see Ó Sé succeeding former Kingdom team mate Declan O’Sullivan in the role, with the latter having stepped down in July as a result of work commitments.

Ó Sé had been heavily linked with the Offaly vacancy following John Maughan’s departure but rule himself out of the running to succeed the Mayo man he’d worked under for the past year in the Faithful County.

It’s understood that the five-time All-Star will be handed a two-year term as U20 boss with Seamus Moynihan said to be part of his backroom team.
