Donegal's long search for a new senior football manager is set to end in the coming weeks with the appointment of Rory Kavanagh.

The 2012 All-Ireland SFC winner has been strongly linked with the post which has been vacant since Declan Bonner stepped down after five years in charge in July. Kavanagh wouldn’t be drawn on speculation linking him with the vacancy after his St Eunan's side defeated Kilcar to qualify for this Sunday's Donegal SFC final against Naomh Conaill, but all the signs are that he will take over the Tir Chonaill men as soon as the club season is over.

“I’m just concentrating on St Eunan’s now until our season is finished," Kavanagh said after last Friday night's semi-final.

The final is a repeat of last year's Dr Maguire Cup decider which St Eunan's won on a 1-11 to 0-4 scoreline.
