Clonoulty-Rossmore returned to action today for the first time since the passing of teammate and club captain Dillon Quirke.

The 2018 champions lined out in their rescheduled Tipperary SHC third round clash against Moycarkey-Borris, just over two weeks after the tragic death of county star Dillon.

The 24-year-old took ill while playing for Clonoulty-Rossmore at Semple Stadium and received medical treatment on the pitch before being rushed to Tipperary University Hospital where he passed away.

In what proved to be an emotional day at Boherlahan, a minute's silence in honour of Dillon was observed before throw-in as Moycarkey-Borris captain Pat Molloy presented Clonoulty-Rossmore's Jimmy Ryan and Cathel Bourke with a signed club jersey in a gesture of support.

The grief-stricken Clonoulty-Rossmore players were determined to honour Dillon's memory, and showed great character to eke out a 0-25 to 1-19 victory.
