New York’s historic All-Ireland junior football championship final victory over Kilkenny sparked some fantastic scenes at Croke Park yesterday afternoon.
The Exiles scored a dramatic win (0-13 to 1-9) over the holders thanks to Brian Coughlan’s point in the second minute of injury-time.
The one-point win secured New York’s first ever All-Ireland title and, as RTE Sport’s Des Cahill pointed out, there was another first at Croker during the jubilant celebrations afterwards.
