Kildalkey’s utter dominance of the Meath hurling landscape continued at the weekend when they added two more pieces of silverware to their bulging trophy cabinet.
With the SHC, IHC, JHC and Division 3 League titles already in the bag, Nick Fitzgerald’s charges maintained their remarkable winning streak by collecting the Billy Byrne and Brendan Davis Cups. Their intermediate team got the weekend off to a great start by beating Kilskyre/Moylagh 3-19 to 2-14 after extra-time in the Billy Byrne Cup final before their seniors overcame Kiltale by 0-19 to 1-12 to avenge last year’s Brendan Cup final loss.
The seniors will be back in action on Saturday week when they face Offaly representatives Clodiagh Gaels – who lost the Offaly SHC ‘B’ final to Kilcormac/Killoughey’s second team – in the Leinster Club IHC.
