Kevin McStay has described Aidan O’Shea as “unmarkable at times” when positioned at full-forward.
Speaking on RTE's Allianz League Sunday programme, McStay was discussing Mayo’s hugely impressive performance against Galway yesterday in Tuam, where they scored a 3-23 to 0-17 victory over the home side.
James Horan’s men had ran up a 16-point lead by half-time and McStay reckons utilising O’Shea as the team’s target man paid massive dividends.
"Today's display is anchored and predicated on the positioning of Aidan O'Shea at 14," he said.
"If he's appropriately selected, positioned and more importantly utilised, he really is unmarkable at times.
"Today he was unmarkable. He's fit, he's hungry, he's committed. He's had a short enough club season, he's captaining the team and I've been saying this for the past few weeks, he's in great shape."
