Kildare manager Jack O'Connor has named his senior football squad for 2021 with an influx of fresh new talent and faces hoping to make their mark.

After established figures like Peter Kelly and Johnny Byrne retired, O'Connor has given plenty of young players a chance to stake a claim as they prepare for their Allianz Football League opener with Cork at Semple Stadium on Saturday week.

Injuries rule Fergal Conway and Niall Kelly out of the clash against the Rebels while Mattie Byrne and Ben McCormack are both unavailable for different reasons. Athy's David Hyland retains his role as team captain.
