Anna-Rose Kennedy’s AFLW career looks to be over after Geelong confirmed that she will not be returning next season.

And that could be good news for the Tipperary ladies footballers who she won an All-Ireland intermediate championship medal with in 2019. The decision by Geelong to delist Kennedy doesn’t come as a surprise after she returned home to Ireland earlier this year and didn’t feature in their 2025 campaign.

“We acknowledge the big commitment and sacrifice our Irish players make in travelling half-way across the world to play AFLW, spending so much time away from their family and loved ones, and respect Anna-Rose’s decision to remain in Ireland,” Geelong Cats Head of AFLW Dominique Condo said.

“Anna-Rose made a significant impact in the two seasons she spent with us, and we thank her for her contribution to the Club and wish her well for the future.”
