Fr Caseys made it three wins from three in the Limerick senior football championship last night by seeing off Monaleen on a 0-15 to 0-8 score-line.

The Abbeyfeale outfit laid down a marker at Mick Neville Park, where they kept their counterparts to just two points from open play while going on to bag the seven-point victory that keeps them top of Group 1.

The opening quarter had been airtight, with the sides level on 0-4 apiece, before Cormac Roche, Adrian Enright, Dylan Quirke and Rory O’Brien sailed over unanswered points that had the would-be winners up by four at the half.

The 2006 champions would go to dominate large portions of the third quarter, with points from Enright and Sean Kilbridge helping to make it 0-12 to 0-6 with 18 minutes to go.

Monaleen only registered two more points from there as Caseys saw out the win in comfort.

This evening (Friday) see holders Newcastle West up against Galbally while Oola take on Claughaun on Sunday evening.
