The GAA has confirmed that the Covid-19 pandemic cost the Association more than €25m over the past two years.
The €25.2 million figure was revealed by the GAA at its annual report yesterday in Croke Park.
With the return of attendances and increased sponsorship revenues, the GAA bounced back last year to record a surplus of €13.5m for 2021.
Gate receipts went from €3.6m to €11.7 last year and the operating surplus rose from €3.1 to €47m.
The accounts for 2021 are over an 11-month period from November 2020 to September 2021 and include two All-Ireland championships.
TweetAfter the considerable financial challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic the GAA staged a strong recovery in 2021, reporting a consolidated surplus of €1.9M. The Association still has a two-year Covid Deficit Position of €25.2M from 2020 and 2021. #GAABelong
