Donegal are set to be without injured attacker Oisin Gallen for Sunday week’s Ulster SFC final against Derry.

The Sean MacCumhaills clubman has been sidelined with injury since last February’s Allianz League clash against Tyrone.

Bonner confirmed that while Gallen isn’t far off a return to action, he will play no part in the showdown with the Oak Leafers in nine days’ time.

"It's been unfortunate over the last couple of years that he's picked up injuries," Bonner is quoted saying by BBC Sport NI.

"Unfortunately he's not going to be available for the Ulster final. He's not that far away but the final has come too soon for him.

"It's been a difficult journey for him over the last couple of years with picking up those injuries, but let's hope that when he gets back he can stay on the park."

There is better news on the injury front for midfielder Hugh McFadden, who is set to be available for the Tir Chonaill men’s 10th provincial final in 12 years after going off injured early in the second-half of the semi-final win over Cavan.
