Kilkenny champions Mooincoin were in impressive form at the TUS Gaelic Grounds this afternoon

Mooncoin of Kilkenny will face Cork’s Ballygiblin in the All-Ireland club junior hurling championship on the weekend of February 5/6 after both sides comfortably came through their respective semi-finals today.

The Kilkenny champions were in impressive form at the TUS Gaelic Grounds as they crushed Galway counterparts Salthill-Knocknacarra on a 2-26 to 0-11 score-line.

The victors had been 0-9 to 0-4 in front when Kevin Crowley hammered in their first goal in the 21st minute and they’d go on to lead by a dozen points at the half (1-15 to 0-6).

Within three minutes of the restart, Mooncoin would have the sliotar in their opponents net again – this time John Fitzgerald provided the finish after a fine fetch.

There was no coming back from there for the Galway men as the Leinster champions ran out 21-point winners.

Earlier in the day, Ballygiblin had 20 points to spare over Fullen Gaels of Manchester as they cruised into the All-Ireland decider.

It finished 4-20 to 0-12 in Portlaoise, where the winners netted their first goal through Colin English before going on to take in an unassailable 1-12 to 0-1 lead at the interval.

The second-half saw the Britain champions much more competitive but goals from substitute Aidan Donegan, Sean O’Sullivan and English ensured that the men from north of the Rebel County eased through.
