All-Ireland U20 winning boss Keith Ricken as allowed his name to go forward for the vacant Cork senior football manager job.

Ronan McCarthy’s departure from the post a few weeks ago has left the Rebel County in search of a new football boss and interviews for the role are expected to get underway next week.

Ricken led Cork U20s to All-Ireland glory in 2019 after his side came from nine points down to beat Dublin in the final. This past season saw the Leesiders defeating Kerry to take another Munster crown before losing out to would-be winners Offaly in the All-Ireland semi-finals.

Ricken has also steered Cork IT to its sole Sigerson Cup success in 2009 and won two Premier titles with his native club St Vincent’s in Cork city as manager.
