Ballyea made it two wins from two starts in the Clare SHC and claimed top spot in Group 3 ahead of this weekend's remaining matches courtesy of a 2-21 to 0-15 win against Crusheen.
Two-time All-Star Tony Kelly scored 0-7 for the winners, while Mossy Gavin and Niall Deasy grabbed goals in either half at Cusack Park yesterday evening.
Crusheen found themselves 0-6 to 0-2 in front after twelve minutes but the 2016 Munster champions had got back on level terms by half-time, 1-8 to 0-11.
Without team captain Jack Browne who was forced off injured at the break, Ballyea cranked up a gear and went on a run of six unanswered points to take control of proceedings before Deasy's strike put a seal on the victory.
The action continues today when Clarecastle take on Scariff and Clooney-Quin meet Eire Og Ennis as part of a double-header at the county grounds.
