Loughduff lad I get your point but group games are meaningless game they generate no interest . Going through the motions. We had it before there was 1 group with 3 teams and 2,qualified one year. Madness. What I have proposed generates excitement and interest .

Loughduff Lad - Sounds good in theory, but can you imagine the County Board trying to arrange 4 groups of 4 and then trying to manage the fixtures! It would be December before the final is played!
The whole things a farce - and all because of the County Team.

Get rid of the Breffni League for one, start the ACFL in early March and run it off over consecutive weekends except a weekend when Cavan are playing. Championship should start in May and be finished before the end of August, with whatever format they need to. There's a secretary and 2 assistants in Breffni so it shouldn't be too much trouble.

I understand that lads, but that championship ran a lot better years ago. And we'd have 16 set teams who would all take part and not have small groups. This way, you can do the draw early in the year, and you know your first 3 games (unlike now when you're constantly waiting on results to see who you face next) and can plan accordingly. Yeah, there'll be some dead rubbers, but most matches will be worth something, as it's better to get top seeding, and you are trying to avoid bottom and possible relegation playoffs. As the draw has been done early, you can play the first round or two earlier in the summer while we're waiting on Cavan. And the quarters could be played in mid-August after Cavan are out, not like now where we are still waiting on matches to see who makes the last 8...
