Grounds Development

Planning permission has been granted to our club for development consisting of an  all weather astro pitch, new floodlights, high ball netting, and new pitch fencing. A lot of work, under the direction of Development Officer Niall Smith and forward thinking committee members, went into the proposal, and into the application for sports capital funding. A committee meeting re fundraising for the development will be held next Thursday April 15th. These plans along with the completion of a new players gym will really enhance our club facilities, and ensure that O’Raghallaigh Park will be one of the best GAA grounds in the county, and a huge asset to the communty. Anyone who has any ideas for fundraising projects, and wishes to come aboard is very welcome

Return to Play

All going well, GAA senior inter-county teams will be allowed to return to collective inter-county training from April 19, followed by under-age (U18) non-contact training across all outdoor sports in pods of no more than 15 on April 26. We look forward to this positive development – more information at a later date!

County Board Draw

Cavan County Board is selling tickets to be in with a chance of winning a brand new 2021 Volkswagen Golf, sponsored by Brady’s Arva Ltd. Second prize in the draw is €2000 and third prize is two nights’ bed and breakfast and one evening meal for two in the Slieve Russell Hotel. The draw will take place in Kingspan Breffni on Monday, May 3rd 2021. Tickets are €20 each or three for €50, and are currently on sale online through Clubforce. It is hoped to have hard copy tickets when guidelines permit. Funds from the draw are for the support of all Cavan GAA teams.

Registrations 2021

Thanks to everyone who has registered for the 2021 season. Keep in mind that the player injury fund which covers match play and training is currently under suspension. We are hopeful that return to some activity will resume with the next government announcement and it is important to remember that all players will need to be registered before a return to training. This may be completed at www.clubforce.com. All those paid up will be registered on the new GAA management system – Foireann. All schools have a 24hour cover insurance plan which may be purchased from schools for the year at a small cost
