Portarlington delivered a strong statement of intent with 3-19 to 0-9 hammering of Palatine in their Leinster club SFC quarter-final clash at Netwatch Cullen Park today.

The reward for the three-in-a-row Laois SFC champions is a last four meeting with Kilmacud Crokes at Croke Park on Saturday, 19 November.

Martin Murphy's side will be out to make amends for last year's two-point defeat to eventual winners Crokes at the same stage.

There was little to separate the sides throughout the opening 15 minutes, but five points without reply had Portarlington 0-11 to 0-5 clear by half-time.

Palatine enjoyed a convincing opening round win over St Patrick's, but really struggled on this occasion, and there was no way back for Pado Flynn's troops when Colm Murphy (1-6) got through for the opening goal five minutes after the restart.

Rioghan Murphy also netted in the 44th and 52nd minutes as Port' won pulling up.
