Cork great Brid Stack is set to be the focus of the latest episode of TG4’s Laochra Gael tonight (Thursday).
Stack won a remarkable 11 All-Ireland senior football championship titles during her career, along with seven All-Star awards.
After her retirement from inter-county football in 2019, she moved to Australia with her husband and young son the following year to play in the AFLW with GWS Giants.
Unfortunately, Stack would suffer a broken neck in a warm-up game which saw her sidelined for her first season before making a successful comeback that saw her representing the Giants 19 times.
Along with her achievements on the field, the St Val’s clubwoman has also been a huge advocate for women’s health and has spoken openly about her experiences with miscarriage and sport has helped in through the difficult times.
The latest episode of Laochra Gael airs at 9.30pm tonight on TG4.
