Dowling to succeed Lyng as Kilkenny U20 boss

Mark Dowling is set to take over from Derek Lyng as Kilkenny U20 hurling manager.
Dowling will be ratified at the September county board meeting. He is a former Kilkenny hurler who led his home club Dicksboro and Thurles Sarsfields to Kilkenny and Tipperary SHC final appearances in 2020 and 2021 respectively.
Lyng, who replaced the long-serving Brian Cody as senior manager last month, guided the Cats to their first All-Ireland U20 / U21 title since 2008 earlier this year.
