Kilnadeema-Leitrim produced an incredible comeback to down last year's beaten finalists Turloughmore in the Galway SHC preliminary quarter-final at Duggan Park this afternoon, 2-17 to 1-17.

The massive underdogs looked to be dead and buried when trailing by 0-6 to 1-12 with 35 minutes gone on the clock, but with the breeze at their backs, they managed to claw back the deficit to three points at the second water-break, 1-13 to 1-10, and outlasted Turloughmore down the home straight.

Dylan Towolawi’s 40th minute goal offered Des Roche's side a glimmer of hope moments before they were handed a numerical advantage after five-time All-Star defender Daithi Burke was sent off for a high tackle on Colm Molloy.

Turloughmore, who bridged a 35-year gap to reach the Tom Callanan Cup decider twelve months ago, will be left wondering how exactly they lost this game, having looked to be cruising to victory.

Also today, Gort edged Portumna 1-22 to 2-18 in Loughrea, while two goals in extra-time saw Kilconieron prevail 2-19 to 0-18 against Padraig Pearses at Kenny Park.
