Mount Leinster Rangers retained the Carlow senior hurling championship title courtesy of a 0-24 to 0-16 final victory against St Mullin's at Netwatch Cullen Park this afternoon.

All bar one of the winners' scores came from play with Denis Murphy leading the way as the Rangers romped to their tenth title in 15 years.

St Mullin's struggled to match the intensity of Conor Phelan's charges in the early stages and were left trailing by 0-17 to 0-7 at the break.

Oisin Ryan impressed with a string of points for the beaten 2019 Leinster club finalists at the start of the second-half but they couldn't find the goals they needed to get back into contention.

Mount Leinster Rangers could even afford a missed penalty which Kevin Kehoe saved from Diarmuid Byrne in the 51st minute.
