Waterford's 2021 hopes have been boosted by the return of key forward Shane Bennett.

It means the three Bennett brothers will be in the Waterford senior hurling squad for the first time since 2017, with Kieran and Stephen both key players in their march to last year's All-Ireland final.

Youngest sibling Shane was not part of manager Liam Cahill's plans in 2020 having opted to take a year out of inter-county hurling. He had previously left the Deise squad in 2018 to spend the summer in Boston.

There is some more good news for Waterford as fellow attacker DJ Foran has also returned to the set-up. Bennett and Foran are part of five new additions which see Michael Kiely, Seamus Keating and Thomas Douglas come in.

The availability of the duo is a welcome boost to the Deise after the double blow of losing star defender Tadhg de Búrca to a cruciate knee ligament injury and All-Star goalkeeper Stephen O'Keeffe who won't be involved this year.
