Richie Hogan has been named to start in the Kilkenny team for tomorrow's All-Ireland SHC semi-final showdown with Waterford at Croke Park (throw-in 6pm).

The Danesfort dynamo stepped off the bench to inspire the Cats to a 2-20 to 0-24 win over Galway in the Leinster final two weeks ago, scoring 1-2 and assisting in another goal.

Brian Cody's side appeared to be heading for a third successive provincial decider defeat but Hogan's introduction helped change that and he is rewarded with a place at full forward.

There are also call ups for wing back Paddy Deegan and corner forward Billy Ryan as Richie Leahy, Walter Walsh and captain Colin Fennelly drop out of the starting 15.

Kilkenny (All-Ireland SHC v Waterford): Eoin Murphy; Conor Delaney, Huw Lawlor, Tommy Walsh; Padraig Walsh, Cillian Buckley, Paddy Deegan; Conor Browne, Conor Fogarty; John Donnelly, TJ Reid, Martin Keoghan; Billy Ryan, Richie Hogan, Eoin Cody.

Subs: Darren Brennan, Paul Murphy, Joey Holden, Ciaran Wallace, Richie Reid, Alan Murphy, Colin Fennelly, Walter Walsh, Liam Blanchfield, Ger Aylward, Niall Brassil.
