Armagh boss Kieran McGeeney paid a heartfelt tribute to Monaghan U20 football captain Brendán Óg Duffy after his side's Ulster SFC semi-final loss to the Farney County yesterday.

The game in Newry was overshadowed by news of the 19-year-old's tragic death in a car crash on Friday night.

"Things can be put into perspective with that young fella who died last night from Monaghan," 'Geezer' told Sky Sports.

"I just want to pass on my condolences to his family. It's tough, I lost my own cousin during the week, Joseph (Cassidy).

"Football is important. It's important for us all and we're lucky that our loved ones let us do it. But you try to remember there are other things out there as well."
