Cork defender Robert Downey says the Rebels know they’ll be up against stiff opposition in the form of Antrim in Belfast this weekend.

Kieran Kingston’s men face the newly crowned Joe McDonagh Cup champions in the All-Ireland SHC preliminary quarter-finals tomorrow (2pm) and are hot favourites to progress at Corrigan Park when all’s said and done.

Speaking to RTE Sport, Downey says recent past wins and losses will be forgotten about once the Leesiders cross the white line in west Belfast.

"You can't dwell on the past. It's always about the next game, and for us it was just about getting back in training and making sure we got through a nice block of training leading into the Antrim game,” stated the Glen Rovers clubman.

"We know we'll be up against stiff opposition on Saturday. We'll be doing our best to get past them."

On the challenge he expects from the Glensmen, he added: "They're a very balanced team. They have some excellent forwards who are household names, like Neil McManus and Keelan Molloy.

"We'll have our work cut out for us and we'll have to keep tabs on them lads. Corrigan Park is a small field and it'll be a hostile enough atmosphere."
