Connor Marron RIP.

A Co. Antrim GAA club has been numbed by the sudden death of one of its brightest prospects in London at the weekend.

Nineteen-year-old Connor Marron from Ahoghill died in the early hours of Sunday at Hornsey Station in North London. A past-pupil of St Louis Grammar School, he was a second year student at Ulster University and hailed from a well-known GAA family.

In a social media post, Roger Casements GAC Portglenone described Connor's death as “devastating".

"Connor represented Sean Stinsons and Casements at underage level and enjoyed great success as a player and team captain through the juvenile ranks," the club said.

"In 2015, he captained the Sean Stinson's Óg team, which competed in the All-Ireland Series in Donegal. Last year he made his senior debut for Casements senior reserves and would have no doubt gone on to play at senior level."

Many other tributes have been paid to the young man who was also a talented snooker and soccer player.
