'Great news' for Ulster GAA as spectator restrictions in Northern Ireland eased

There was great news for Ulster GAA this evening as the Northern Ireland Executive agreed to lift the cap on 500 people at outdoor events from tomorrow (Friday, 2 July).
Antrim GAA welcomed the further easing of Covid-19 lockdown restrictions ahead of their Ulster SFC quarter-final clash against Armagh at the Athletic Grounds on Sunday.

"Great news from the NI Executive and Minister of Communities with the removal of 500 cap on outdoor gatherings starting from Friday 2 July at 5pm," the official Antrim GAA account tweeted.
"This will allow more fans (subject to conditions) to be in attendance and #SupportTheSaffs v Armagh in the #UlsterChampionship."
Details on the number of spectator allowed into sporting venues will be confirmed in due course and will be subject to risk assessment.
In the Republic of Ireland, 500 fans are now permitted to attend championship games where the venues have a capacity in excess of 5,000.
