Nenagh Eire Og have dashed Thurles Sarsfields’ five in-a-row dreams.
Andrew Coffey and Paddy Murphy raised green flags in either half as Nenagh recorded a merited 2-18 to 2-15 semi-final success at Semple Stadium today.
Michael Heffernan took the scoring honours with 0-9 for the winners who had to withstand a late rally from the defending champions.
Coffey’s strike boosted his team into a 1-10 to 0-5 half-time lead.
Sars refused to throw in the towel and their perseverance was rewarded with two late goals from Denis and Ronan Maher (free) but they ran out of time and it’s Nenagh Eire Og who advances to a final showdown with Clonoulty-Rossmore.
