Cuchulainns GAA Club, London notes
28 May 2012
Hurling Ronan Cup: Fulham Irish 1.19 CuChulainns 0.04
A weakened hurling team went down to Fulham Irish in Greenford on Saturday. Despite missing 10 regulars the lads gave a good account of themselves and the score line flattered their opponents greatly.
Football: Mullarkey Cup Q-Final: Shalloe Pearses 0.04 CuChulainns 6.13
The footballers recorded a comprehensive victory over the Pearses on Saturday in blistering temperatures in Greenford. This was a good performance but bigger tests will lie ahead. The goals on the day came from Kieran Melhorne (two), Johnny Kinch, Chris Eastwood, Calvin McSweeney and Wayne.
No fixtures this weekend due to the London Footballers and Hurlers being in championship action. We wish our club mate Sean Kelly and all involved with the London footballers all the best as Leitrim come to Ruislip for the Connacht Championship on Sunday.
Club Dinner Dance
On Saturday 17th November 2012 the club will host a special dinner to mark the 80th anniversary of its formation. This promises to be a special night as people gather from all over Ireland and further afield to remember the achievements of one of London's oldest clubs. The venue for the event is 'The Corrib Rest', 76-80 Salusbury Road, London, NW6 6PA. Tickets and more information will be available later in the year but keep the date free as it promises to be a great night.
The club sends our congratulations to footballer Fiachra McLoughlin and his wife Orla on the birth of their son James. Also congratulations to Mickey Biggane who celebrated his 60th birthday party on Saturday night. Unfortunately Limerick couldn't quite make it a great double for him!
