Sligo squad departs today
03 May 2012
The Sligo senior football squad flies to New York today (Thursday).
Kevin Walsh and his players will arrive in the Big Apple to do battle with the Exiles in the first round of the 2012 Connacht SFC on Sunday.
There was a time when this would have been a formality but New York have made massive strides in recent times and they almost took Galway's scalp two years ago. So the Yeats men, who held their final training session on Sunday, will not be taking this trip lightly.
New York are managed by Connie Molloy - brother of Donegal's 1992 All-Ireland winning captain Anthony - and they will be determined to hold their own on home soil against a Sligo team that showed some signs of weakness during the league.
