Anthony Cahill of Barnane, Templemore died on Nov. 17th. Born in 1929 in Leugh, Thurles, Anthony came to Barnane to live with his aunt Mrs Berkery, where he continued his education in the CBS Templemore. On leaving school he took up full time farming until his recent retirement.

The death took place on Saturday morning, January 13, 2007 at his residence, Francroft, Roscrea of Mr Paddy Dooley. He was in his early seventies and although he was in failing health for some time. His untimely passing was received with much regret and sadness, as he had been out and about on the he previous day and had been at a card game the previous Thursday night. He was a very popular member of the community, where he was held in high esteem. He was predeceased by his three brothers, Joe in November 1991, Jack in March 1996 and Martin in 2003.

Conor was one of the best known personalities in the district and the stillness of that spring evening was broken with sadness as people realised the reality of the message and went into a mourning tone for one of the outstanding friends, neighbours and outstanding GAA workers that the Moycarkey-Borris club and mid Tipperary division has known. There was also great support for his family too in their hours of great sorrow.

Aged 73, Jerome, had spent most of his adult years living and working in Dublin before retiring home to Lisheen about five years ago. However, his retirement wasnt as carefree or as mellow as he had deserved, and in recent years as his health declined he became more incapacitated.
