Kerry and Meath will contest this year's All-Ireland JFC final.

The Kingdom safely negotiated the challenge of Leitrim in their semi-final which was played at the Gaelic Grounds today.

The curtain-raiser to the senior qualifier clash between Mayo and Cork finished 1-16 to 1-9 in Kerry's favour.

Cathal McCrann gave the Connacht champions the perfect start with a goal in the second minute but his effort was cancelled out by Tomás Ó Sé four minutes later.

The Munster men led by 1-8 to 1-1 at the halfway stage and had seven points to spare at the final whistle.

Meanwhile, in Nowlan Park, Meath booked their place in the final with a 2-19 to 2-8 win over Kilkenny.

The Royals shaded the first-half on a scoreline of 0-8 to 0-5 but pulled away after the resumption to record an 11 point success.

The final is scheduled to be played on Saturday, August 5th. Venue and time to be confirmed.

Stephen Coogan and captain Daire Rowe netted their goals in the second half while Bill Sheehan and Cian O'Donoghue raised green flags for the Cats.
