Dunshaughlin kicked the last three points of this very entertaining encounter against St Vincents Curraha to win the LMFM sponsored Meath Minor Football League Division 2 title at Pairc Tailteann.

Dunshaughlin 2-12 St Vincents Curraha 2-10

St Vincents Curraha, who lined out without county star Niall Murphy, made the better start and were 1-2 to 0-1 up after six minutes. Midfielder Sean Keogh opened the scoring, Shane Clare (free) levelled before Conor Moriarty posted a goal and a point to put the amalgamation team in control.

The teams traded a brace of points between the 10th and 15th minute before Dunshaughlin had a lucky break. Moriarty was in for his second goal but his well placed shot came off the butt of the post. Corner forward Patrick McGill pointed from the rebound and his team were five in front.

This let off seemed to spur on Dunshaughlin and they kicked four points without reply through Sean O'Neill (2) and Clare (2) to go in at the break only one in arrears 0-7 to 1-6.

Moriarty and Cian Gallogly traded points before Vincents Curraha made to push for home. McGill got in for the second goal and Keogh followed up with two sweet points to push them six ahead 2-8 to 0-8.

But once again Dunshaughlin fought back and were rewarded with two goals to level matters. Mika Mampeme pushed forward from the corner back spot to net the first and midfielder Neill Byrne, who had moved to full forward, converted a penalty after substitute Turlough Malone was fouled in the square.
