Syddan's Daire Rowe

DAIRE ROWE was in fine scoring form as Syddan hit top spot in Division 3 of the A league following two high scoring wins in quick succession.

In midweek Syddan entertained Bective and Rowe was in scintillating form, bagging 3-11 as his side romped to a 4-21 to 0-12 victory.

Rowe hit 1-6 in the opening half as Syddan led 1-10 to 0-6 at the break. He then added a further 1-2 in the opening five minutes of the second half to put the game beyond the reach of Jody Devine's men.

Rowe pounced for his third goal on 52 minutes and that left it 3-16 to 0-7. Syddan continued to keep the scoreboard ticking over from there to the end and their fourth goal came courtesy of Graham Garland close to the finish.

Three days later Syddan travelled to Ballinacree to take on unbeaten St Brigid's and came away with a 2-17 to 0-7 win.

Again Rowe took the scoring honours with six points. Syddan led 0-7 to 0-3 at half-time and with St Brigid's down to 14 men the visitors took full advantage in the second half to record an easy win.

Ian Curran and Fiachra Ross also impressed in the winners attack while centre back Ben Bashford accounted for two points.

Substitutes Sean Clare and Conor Dillon both found the net in that second half.
