Entry to club championship games jumps to €8

It will cost €8 to go through the turnstiles or gates.

In his financial report to the February meeting of the County Committee in Dunganny treasurer Jim Mullery announced an increase  in admission charges for games in the group stages of football and hurling championships.

After four years of a €5 charge into such fixtures it will now  will cost €8 to go through the turnstiles or gates. It will be €5 for students and senior citizens.

Although Oliver Cudden of Duleek / Bellewstown expressed criticism of the increase, the management committee's decision was given the green light.

Mullery said that there will have to be a huge concentration on fundraising in 2016 and remarked that gate receipts represents the main source of income every year.
