The Hill were quick off the mark and went into an early three point lead with scores from Andrea Pearle, Ann-Marie O'Brien and Barbara Kelly. Dunsany then registered their first point of the game, but Summerhill maintained their dominance in midfield through Julianne Scanlon and their captain Ann-Marie Fagan.

Jenny Rispin was proving a handful for the Dunsany defence and she rattled the back of the net after a good pass from corner forward Karen Duignan. The impressive Niamh Crowe scored two great points and also Julianne Scanlon, Jenny Rispin, Andrea Pearle and Ann-Marie O'Brien pointed to put Summerhill in a comfortable lead.
