Clare 1-13

Limerick will face Kerry for a place in the Munster JFC final in Killarney on the weekend of June 11/12 after withstanding a late Clare rally at a sun-splashed Gaelic Grounds.

The Treaty looked to be coasting to victory when leading by 2-12 to 0-8 with 10 minutes to go, but the visitors outscored them by 1-5 to 0-1 thereafter to set up a tense finish.

The teams were evenly matched in the early stages, but a 27th minute goal from Tony McCarthy, allied to points from Padraig Scanlon (three), Jamie Lee and Seamus O'Carroll (two each), had Limerick 1-7 to 0-4 ahead at the break.

Scanlon and Lee added further points on the restart before O'Carroll netted to extend Limerick's lead to 2-10 to 0-4 after 36 minutes. The home side remained in the driving seat until Clare came with a late scoring burst.
