Kerry under-21 footballer Mark O'Connor could be set for a career in Aussie Rules football.

The talented Dingle club player, who was on the All-Ireland minor winning Kerry team side last year, is set to head Down Under in a fortnight's time where he is set to have a trial with some clubs there.

The Kerryman reports that O'Connor could be on the verge of signing for an unnamed club in the Australian Rules games.

There has been an increase of Irish youngsters heading to Oz to try and forge a career in the AFL.

Most recently, Tipperary dual star Colin O'Riordan signed an international rookie deal with the Sydney Swans.
