Eamonn Fitzmaurice wasn't reaching for the panic button after Kerry suffered a first ever home defeat to Roscommon.

The Kingdom have been notoriously slow starters in the Allianz League in recent seasons and this year is proving to be no different after early losses to Dublin and the Rossies.

"We have to get points on the board quickly and once we get a few wins, things will take off," Fitzmaurice assured Kerry supporters when speaking to the Irish Daily Mirror.

"We have been down this road before. My first year, we lost four games and three games the second year. Without doubt, the attitude and willingness to work was way better today than last week. It is unfortunate that we haven't go something out of the game and we've made it hard for ourselves again."

Kerry now have three weeks to prepare for a bottom-of-the-table clash with Down in Newry.

"They are all big games for us now. We have been in this situation before. We are not going to panic.

"We have got three weeks now to get a bit of work done, to get our football sharpness up a bit. Hopefully then we go up to Down we can finish the job.

"Marc O Se, Colm Cooper and Kieran Donaghy will be back. Bryan Sheehan too and a few lads from Templenoe as well."
