Walsh to make AFL debut?

20 April 2012

Tommy Walsh
Tommy Walsh could make his AFL debut this weekend.

The former Kingdom star has been named in Sydney Swans' 25-man squad for their meeting with North Melbourne on Sunday.

Walsh hadn't been named in the Swans' matchday squad for any previous games this season but comes in for the Round Four clash as co-captain Adam Goodes is suspended.

The All-Ireland-winning former Young Footballer of the Year faces competition for a starting place from Tony Armstrong, Mark Seaby and Harry Cunningham.

24-year-old Walsh has caught the eye with the Swans reserves this season and manager John Longmire admits his versatility is a big plus. Walsh went to Australia in 2009 and joined the Sydney club from St Kilda last October.
