Fenians to honour JJ

The Fenians GAA club are to honour their most famous son this weekend.

JJ Delaney is one of the legends of the game winning every honour in hurling on multiple occasions and following his retirement last year, the club put in motion a way to honour the talented defender.

A large crowd is set to descent on the Johnston's club grounds tomorrow (Saturday) at 6pm to see JJ's All-Stars take on Fenian's.

The All-Star team will be made up of some ex-Kilkenny hurlers who played alongside Delaney and these includes Henry Shefflin, Aidan Fogarty, Tommy Walsh, Michael Kavanagh, Eddie Brennan, while the likes of Galway's Ollie Canning, Damien Hayes and Damien Joyce as well as Tipp's Paul Curran and other former county stars.

A commemorative programme has been produced for the game, while there be a function held in Billy Fitzpatrick's pub afterwards.
