St. Francis' College, Rochestown (Cork) 4-11
Ardscoil  Ris (Limerick) 1-17

Goals were key as St. Francis' College, Rochestown ended Ardscoil Ris' reign as Harty Cup champions in today's semi-final at chilly Charleville.

The Cork school shot three goals in a 15-minute spell during the second half to book their place in the final against Thurles CBS.

The winners signalled their intent by racing into a 0-6 to 0-1 lead after 11 minutes, but finally making their wind advantage count, Ardscoil fought back with scores from Ronan Lynch, Peter Casey, Michael Mackey and Paraic O'Loughlin to regain parity three minutes before half-time.

A Sean Powter goal put Rochestown back in front before two Peter Casey points and a Nathan Fox effort left it level pegging at the break.

The sides were still deadlocked 11 minutes into the second half, but Rochestown then seized control with goals from Shane Kingston, Powter and Ciaran Cormack. Lynch got one back in injury-time, but it was a case of too little, too late for the Limerick men.
