As we move into mid-summer, it was another busy championship afternoon.

In total, there were five senior championship matches going down for decision today across all four provinces - three in football and two in hurling.

The day's events started at Enniskillen at 2pm, when Fermanagh and Cavan met in an Ulster SFC quarter-final derby.

At 4pm, in Connacht, neighbours Mayo and Roscommon came face-to-face at McHale Park to see who'd progress to the provincial football final.

In between, there were three matches throwing in at 3:30: Clare V Cork in the Munster SFC at Ennis; Laois V Galway in the Leinster SHC at Portlaoise; and Down V Armagh in the Ulster SHC at Newry (another derby!).
