Paddy Walsh is through to another All-Ireland handball final following a straight sets victory over Dublin's John Kiely on Sunday. The Sligo stalwart was never really troubled by the Dubliner in an overall resounding win for the St. Mary's Club man. Amusingly Kiely is a former Sligo Rovers player. Walsh will play Down's Des O'Neill or Cork's Pat O'Brien in the final and aiming for an astounding 29th All-Ireland handball title having won his first back in 1974. Walsh could complete an historic double as Walsh & Padraig Maye are through to the All-Ireland doubles final following an injury to Dublin's Mick O'Brien. Another Sligo pairing Mick McMorrow & Hugh McGarry take on Leinster champions in Carlow's Eamon Sunderland & Mick Doyle on Saturday 23rd April in St. Mary's in the Emerald Masters doubles semi-final.

In the Boys U-17 doubles Connacht final there was disappointment for Sligo when Stanley Harte Jnr & Ross Taheny both from the Collooney club fell to Mayo's Conor Burke & Cormac Mahon by 3-21, 15-21 in the provincial decider played in Newport. Tweet
