yea im sure Dublin were on a club 18 -30s holiday over in Jamaica and the hangovers were just to strong to cope even in a ground they know with a blindfold on!

Wins us a lot more than it loses us chief!! Dublins results since Jim Gavin took over where we scored 10 points or less in a game 2014 - Dublin 2-8 v 1-10 Kerry 2014 - Tyrone 1-15 v 3-10 Dublin 2015 - Dublin 2-10 v 0-11 Donegal 2015 - Dublin 1-09 v 0-12 Tyrone 2015 - Dublin 0-08 v 0-04 Derry 2016 - Mayo 0-07 v 0-09 Dublin 2016 - Dublin 1-10 v 0-07 Donegal 2016 - Mayo 0-15 v 2-09 Dublin 2017 - Dublin 0-10 v 1-07 Tyrone Unbeaten in 8 games against some brilliant opposition there while scoring 10 points or less in those games... Now yea, If you want to pedantic you can say we scored goals in a lot of those games... So, Take out the games where we scored goals and we won 2 of the 3, only blemish is last nights result where we missed a penalty. Worth noting by the way that Tyrone in our last 3 league meetings have kept us to 10 points or less, winning a grand total of none of those games. Also worth noting that in those years (13, 14, 15, 16) we scored lowly in certain games and still went on to lift the national league In one (Mayo 2016) we even managed to score less than 10 points against Mayo in an all Ireland semi final, not score the two goals ourselves, and still go on to win the all Ireland. So, a long winded answer to your very simple question, 10 points has proven to win this side a lot of games and titles. "Get back in your box" Sums up the arrogance of some of the Dublin supporters nowadays. You may hope that type of attitude doesn't creep back in among the players again a la Pillars days benched (Tyrone) - Posts: 534 - 12/02/2017 12:09:26 1955082 Link 2 |
Clearly no sense of humour. Tongue in cheek!!

Meaningless league game. Poor conditions, players from both sides missing, Ty players sent off; nearly 7 mins added time; Tyrone were lucky yesterday with McQuillan who as usual always gives the nod to Tyrone where he can, I've heard he referees the Tyrone A v B games also essmac (Tyrone) - Posts: 1141 - 12/02/2017 13:27:06 1955130 Link 0 |
missed the game myself but saw it on tv, tyrone do bother us more than most and seem to match up quite well at times but great to get the draw for us considering the position we were in...very impressed with sludden alano12 (Dublin) - Posts: 2208 - 12/02/2017 13:38:37 1955137 Link 0 |
Thought you looked a really competitive outfit last night lads and it was a great challenge, forget about refs, philosophy etc, i think you are shoulder to shoulder with the four best counties in the country and will challenge this year. Is it a great post because it praises Tyrone or is there something I'm missing?

haha ... If that Tyrone poster saw the brilliant post TheUsername posted on the D1 thread he'd probably need a new pair of jocks.

No I agree with the point about the ref etc, people having a fit about the ref. He was inconsistent for both teams.

Cooper was pushing wee Bradley about, shoving, handbags stuff but managed to get a rise out of him which was probably the plan. Wee Bradley lost his cool and clearly struck cooper in the jaw. Cooper's reaction was unreal, cried and cried and cried to the lines man. He'll have a sore jaw this morning though given to him by the smallest man in county football

here fair play to cooper, he was just getting into bradleys face, Bradley needs to have more discipline and not strike out, he'll learn, just a cub cacsmckilly (Tyrone) - Posts: 1294 - 12/02/2017 15:56:48 1955258 Link 0 |

Looking back on the scores It should have been Tyrone 0-7 Dublin 0-2 after 15 minutes on chances available with reasonable accuracy The issue for Tyrone is well illustrated by Tyrone's long period with no scores after the 12th minute cjx (Tyrone) - Posts: 270 - 12/02/2017 17:27:19 1955377 Link 0 |
Tyrone are masters at disrupting the flow of other sides and I don't think I have seen a team unsettle this Dublin side as much as them, maybe apart from Mayo. However Tyrone don't have the attacking resources of Dublin, Mayo and Kerry and that will continue to hinder them. If this Tyrone team had a Canavan or O'Neill they would the real deal. They are very skillful, fast and mobile but in the final 3rd they are not good enough. So that's me just stating the obvious then.
