Frank was always a divisive figure. I have known him since he refereed parish leagues back in 1960's. His knowledge of hurling is limited, but was a good referee and administrator. He didn't move with the times, and shares some responsibility for strikes. Did well with Blackrock.....brought in outside players like John Horgan, Donie Collins and Frank Cummins, and made sure that Blackrock was well represented on Cork teams of 1970's Anyway, he will still be running Cork County Board.. Different topic...Cork Coach...personally I'd like Tomas Mulcahy to take over as coach. If you had attended the 1971 Munster Final in Killlarney you would not be convinced he was a good referee- an awful display.

I dont agree. Frank is good but comparing him to Nelson Mandela might be stretching it a little.
