Should a possible Galway v Tipp All Ireland SHC semi be played in Cork?

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Our fine stadium Pairc Ui Chaoimh is opening today. When Tipp beat Clare today they play Galway in 2 weeks. Should this game be played in Cork instead of Croke Park? Would be a better atmosphere and good for the economy in Cork

No.Play it in Birr.Convenient to both sets of supporters and it would be good for the economy in West Offaly.

Limerick would be a more suitable venue for Galway v Tipperary.

Croke park Galways next match. Easiest venue to get to for semi final bus train motorway plenty of parking no other venue has this for galway fans.

Footnote I think Clare will beat Tipp today

It's not! Cork is the new capital of Ireland, they have re-vamped Porky Kiev!

Should an AI semi final between an Munster team and a Connacht team be played in Munster to the great convenience of the Munster team involved?

No. Of course not. Don't be silly.

Croke Park is the only place any senior semi-final should be played.

The seat colouring is a bit drab, thought they'd have gone for red seats.

The venue and the time put off alot tipp/clare people I would imagine. It made no sense playing it in Cork. But this will probably be the start of playing games there that shouldnt be in order to pay for the waste of money the pitch is.

i was talking to a tipp man who said he was in the new PUC twice today, his first and last time.he said he was talking to a few people who turned and went home due to the chaotic traffic situation.
by starting the match at 3,the gaa clearly cared more about saving face and not admitting they got the venue wrong than for the thousands sitting at dunkettle.

Ah come on lads. When the two quarter finals were played in Thurles last year there was only 34,000 people in attendance, with three of the four counties involved this weekend playing.
