'There was a coming together' borrowed from our soccer friends, sometimes a player is taken out of it cynicaly and the commentator says this instead of telling it like it is, El_Torro (Tyrone) - Posts: 155 - 12/03/2017 12:29:05 1966347 Link 1 |
In the 2014 Kerry v mayo replay in limerick you can hear Tom Carr telling Marty , oh that was a very opportunist opportunity by Kerry. KingdomBoy1 (Kerry) - Posts: 14092 - 12/03/2017 12:37:23 1966348 Link 0 |

The Camera pans to the commentator on the sideline after some banal discussion about the game in the studio beforehand. lilywhite1 (Kildare) - Posts: 2983 - 12/03/2017 14:39:15 1966369 Link 0 |

An ITV soccer commentator watching England or an Arsenal match used to say this about a goalie when he caught a shot ' Seaman all over the ball' then we have Ger Canning's 'great defending by the defenders' what are they suppose to do, wave or blow kisses at the crowd? Pick daisies?, oh ya another one 'that was a daisy cutter of a shot' meant some fella who couldn't pick up the ball thumps it down the pitch about a foot off the ground that travels 50 metres. Kevin McStays constant praising of Dublin even if it was just sitting for the photo before the game but the one that drives me daft the most is when a commentator or panellist starts talking the same time as the loud speaker decides he is going to announce something to the crowd and you can't hear a word the TV person is saying and they continue talking instead of waiting for the loud speaker to finish riverboys (Mayo) - Posts: 1389 - 12/03/2017 21:29:14 1966537 Link 1 |
'No disrespect to their first round opponents but I expect these two to meet again in their provincial quarter finals'. In other words complete disrespect to their first round opponents. Sure they shouldn't even bother turning up! GreenandRed (Mayo) - Posts: 7290 - 12/03/2017 22:13:59 1966560 Link 0 |

Brian Carty on every score in a match his template is this - "The right/left footed shot by (players name), high and over the bar, and the point for (teams name) (time played) on the clock in the 1st/2nd half". leitrim4sam (Leitrim) - Posts: 636 - 13/03/2017 09:59:50 1966615 Link 0 |

After a particularly enjoyable piece of skill in an otherwise totally unremarkable hurling match (usually a provincial semifinal or earlier, and usually commentary by Marty Morrissey), they'll bring out the aul gem.... extranjero (Wexford) - Posts: 375 - 13/03/2017 10:40:25 1966629 Link 0 |
